Mrs. Montero is a native Floridian originally from Miami. Her native first language is Spanish She was raised by immigrant parents that immigrated to Miami in 1959 from Cuba. Her parents instilled within her a love of language, traditions and rich culture. This is what inspired her love of the Spanish language and culture that continues today throughout her life. She graduated from Florida International University with a BS in Apparel Management and Elementary Education. She also holds a Masters Degree in TESOL from Nova Southeastern University.
She has been teaching for over 25 years with the majority teaching Spanish. Her teaching career began in the Elementary Schools in Miami and with life’s many changes has had the opportunity to teach in many different diverse school settings. She has in fact taught formerly at Saint Joseph’s and has 2 sons who are graduates from the school as well.
Recently, she moved back from Miami and was welcomed back to the Saint Joseph Catholic School family. “I am beyond grateful to be back home here in Bradenton, not only at home but at home with my SJCS family. I am blessed to be able to teach what I love, but most importantly I love each and every one of my students and strive to bring out the best in each of them.” I hope to be able to inspire confidence and the love of learning a new language in my students”
