Hello my name is Maria Garita and I am the STREAM and Robotics Teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School.
I was born and raised in Costa Rica, but recently moved to Bradenton from Naples, Fl. I am an avid fan of science and technology and I have a Bachelor's in Educational Sciences in Secondary and Chemistry Education.
I have been working in education since 2017 as both a Teacher Assistant and a substitute teacher. This is my second year at Saint Joseph's and last year I worked as a part-time second grade teacher assistant.
My goal for the STREAM class is to get students involved in the engineering design process with hands-on learning. To encourage them to use their imaginations to ask questions, determine problems, find creative solutions and improve on their developments.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and my corgi dog Bella, my family, building Lego sets and enjoying video games whenever I can! A fun fact about me is my most prized collection is of all Sony Gaming Systems. I am very blessed and grateful to be part of the St. Joseph Catholic School family.
