Spring Musical
SJCS was excited to reintroduce our Spring Musical program in 2022 after a 2-year hiatus due to the Pandemic.
Under the direction of St. Joseph Catholic School Drama Teacher Paul Mahoney, Music Teacher Jody Kienzler, and English Teacher and Choreographer Susan Jarvis, students performed The Pirates of Penzance Jr.
We are so grateful for the support of our students, parents, and faculty for helping to bring this production together.
With a combination of 4 days and evenings, SJCS students in 5th grade to 8th grade, brought the joy of music and comedy to our local community.
SAVE THE DATES! St. Joseph Catholic School presents, Beauty and the Beast Jr. on April 27, 28 & 29, 2023. Learn more at Spring Musical.
Jr. Thespian Troupe #10698
In addition, in 2022-2023 SJCS is starting a new Thespian Troupe for our middle school students. Under the direction of Drama Teacher Paul Mahoney, members will be preparing for competitions over the next few months that include Solos, Duet Performanaces, Ensemble Acting as well as Improvisation and memorizing One Act Plays.
There will be expenses involved with our Thespian Troupe including travel costs, and performance fees. If you would like to sponsor our Troupe, please email Carlee Colonneso at development@sjsfl.org.
Congratulations to our Jr. Thespian Troupe on the WONDERFUL job they did at the District 5 Event at Blake High School in Tampa. Out of the 11 performances, students received 7 Superiors and 4 Excellents.
We are also excited to announce that JP and Connor received Top Honor recognition for their Duet Performance called "Reel Stuff".
We appreciate the many hours Mr. Mahoney, Mrs. Kienzler, and Ms. Jarvis spent during and after school working with these performers. We also want to thank our SJCS Families and Staff for all of their support of this program. The students were professional and well prepared, and their hard work paid off. We are very proud of them all and their next stop is the STATE Competition in January!
Thank you to the Honorable Angelina "Angel" Colonneso Esq. for sponsoring the Troupe's T-Shirts.
Readers Theatre
Students in the elementary grade levels use puppets to act out small skits in their classroom.
In October, Second Graders visited Truewood Assisted Living Facility to perform for community residents.
4th Grade Musical
4th Grade's performance of "The Rock Slinger's Greatest Hit" The Musical by Allen Pote was PHENOMENAL.
Not only did these students share their talents for acting, but they blessed us all with their beautiful singing voices.
Thank you to our SJCS Joy Singers for opening up the production with "A Tribute to Our Veterans", they did an amazing job.
We also want to extend a HUGE thank you to our 4th Grade Teacher Ms. Hamric, Director Mr. Mahoney, Choreographer Ms. Jarvis, and Music Director Jody Kienzler.
It truly takes a village to bring these types of events together and we appreciate our school faculty, maintenance department, volunteers, and families for supporting our students.
