Chorister Choirs of St. Joseph Catholic School

Training Choir: The chorister choir welcomes all interested children into the training choir, which includes 3rd and 4th grades. We learn music for weekly and one monthly Mass, and special occasions, such as singing for Nursing homes and in school concerts. 

Joy Singers: Includes grades 5-8. All interested students are welcome to audition for this special choir.  Our goal is to train solo voices to cantor for the Mass, sing solos in concert settings, be a musically inclined chorister as well as  leaders in the school musicals and all other aspects of music ministry at the church. 

Both choirs combine monthly to sing at a 4:00 Saturday Mass at St. Joseph church. As well as weekly at School Mass.  The Choristers are also accompained by our Instrumental Performers.

The St. Cecilia Scholarship

In honor of her mother and avid supporter of the arts Patricia Piper Furry, (1932-2018), Jody Kienzler an educator at SJCS established this scholarship to support graduating 8th grade students who excel in the performing arts. In 2023, the scholarship was awarded to Katey Priest.
