St. Joseph Catholic School is one of twelve Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Venice. In addition, there are three secondary schools.
Catholic schools have a long standing tradition of being fully accredited institutions. In Florida, the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops (FCCB) serves as the liaison to the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the state government. Accordingly, the FCCB takes responsibility for issuing rigorous standards and conducting regular accreditation reviews of all Catholic schools in the seven dioceses in the state. Schools are visited every seven years and St. Joseph Catholic School’s next accreditation visit will be in the Spring of 2018.
All Diocese of Venice schools are accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference and are members of the National Catholic Education Association. Saint Joseph Catholic School retains memberships in the NCPSA (National Council for Private School Accreditation), the NAESP (National Association of Elementary School Principals), the National Junior Honor Society and the National Association of Student Councils.
Our schools are staffed by well-qualified administrators, faculty, and dedicated volunteers. Our teachers are required to meet the standards of the Florida Catholic Conference, the State of Florida, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Our teachers are licensed through the state, and participate in the state professional development program, which requires recertification every 5 years.
